TOUMANI Diagouraga has handed Brentford boss Uwe Rosler a fitness boost after scan results showed his knee injury isn't as bad as first feared.

We exclusively revealed last month that the midfielder was set for at least two months on the sidelines after getting his studs caught in the turf in the pre-season friendly win at Hampton.

The Frenchman has undergone a series of tests to determine the full extent of the ligament damage.

But a specialist has confirmed the former Peterborough star doesn't require an operation, and can resume training at some point next month.

Rosler: “It's good news about Toumani.

“He has some ligament damage but we're looking at having him back in training in September.”
