Harrow's chances of clinching the bowls Three Counties League title suffered a huge blow with a defeat to Uxbridge on Sunday.

Harrow went down 124-87 and 8-2 on league points, meaning they must win their remaining two games against Fassnidge (H) and Court Park (A) to stand any chance of capturing the championship.

Match results: J Webb lost to D Ward 16-23; M Clements lost to R Leleux 15-32; J Hughes lost to M Ward 19-22; B Elbourn beat D Gray 26-16; A Bellamy lost to P Allen 11-31.

In the Chiltern & Thames League, Harrow beat Deane Park 57-40, to take the 10 points with G Williams, S Lowe and Bellamy all scoring wins.

Culver Bowls Club's Vets team continued their purple patch with a 19 shot triumph over West Harrow. In the Coronation Shield, Culver beat Woodcock Park by four shots but lost to Ladygate in the third round by 11 shots.

Harrow Weald have secured promotion to Bidgood Division One, while in the Vets League Division One there were wins for Pinner (beat Lupton 60-37), Century A (beat Hendon 74-41) and Ladygate (beat Hendon 65-43).
