HARLEE Dean insists Brentford will bounce back from their Wembley heartbreak and mount another promotion push next season.

The Bees suffered more play-off agony against Yeovil yesterday as the Glovers ran out 2-1 winners to grab a place in the Championship.

However, Dean, whose second-half header handed Brentford a lifeline, says Uwe Rosler's side will recover and go again next year.

He vowed: “It’s massive to regroup for next season. We’ve had some massive setbacks this season with the Doncaster game and now this.

“Every time we’ve got ourselves back up, we get knocked back down. It’ll stand us in good stead for next season as we’re a young team. It’s all about game experience.

“I’m pretty sure there’s people who’ve had a career who hadn’t experienced what we’ve experienced this season. We’ve got to be positive, get it out of our system in the summer and go again.

“The club is going in a good direction, from the chairman to the backroom staff. It’s all set up for the Championship – we just haven’t managed to get there. We can’t do anything about it now, rebuild and go again next season.”

Brentford got off to a slow start at Wembley and found themselves 2-0 down at the break.

Dean's header at the beginning of the second-half gave them hope, but they couldn't find a second.

And the former Southampton centre-back insists his goal counts for nothing.

“It’s every boy’s dream to score at Wembley or even play there,” he added, “but it doesn’t mean anything when you lose.

“No-one is going to remember my goal. It was nice and I’m sure I’ll look back on it and think I scored at Wembley in my career.

“But I’ll also think back and think we lost at Wembley as well which is the main thing.

“We’re devastated as well. It’s been a tough season. That’s what makes it even worse.

“We’ve worked so hard, been so dedicated and made so many sacrifices that we haven’t come out with anything. We’re still a League One team and it’s a bitter pill to swallow.”
