MEMBERS of the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club achieved an impressive five victories and four runners-up places at the club's own promotion at Black Park near Slough.

Around 200 riders enjoyed both the course and the sunny conditions, not least Martin Turton and Rachael Den

man who brought success to the Specialized sponsored team in both the boys and girls youth races.

Russell Watts pushed team-mate Armen Boldy into second in the fun men's class and Karen Sawkins was runner-up in the fun ladies race, a position replicated by Chris Denman in the men's single speed event.

Gill Sene took victory in the women's race with clubmate Ceri Donovan in second and Kim Hurst continued her winning streak by recording her fourth race victory on the trot, powering around the course for a clear win in the open event. Scott Forbes (Pedal On) won the open men's race.

The day before the club staged a road race at the Hillingdon circuit where Paul Wilkinson was 34th out of more than 70 riders.
