Promising rider Dan Maslin underlined his potential by becoming the major winner in the Imperial Racing Team's Winter Series held at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit.
The Hillingdon Slipstreamers member produced a fine performance to win the final U14 race, finishing ahead of more than a dozen U16 riders, to not only take his age group title but also win the over-all honours across all age categories, confirming his position as one of the fastest young riders in the country.
Maslin's efforts were impressive even by his club's standards as Slipstreamers won four of the five age groups from a series that attracts riders from all over southern England, with record numbers entering races despite what was undoubtedly the worse winter weather in the 11-year history of racing at the Hayes circuit.
Ben Smith won the U12 honours, Carl Jolly took the U10 series win and Tom Barrowcliffe landed the U8 title.
Mark Smith of Welwyn Wheelers won the U16 age group, just holding off Slip-streamers' Tanveer Mann and Lawrence Carpenter, who were second and third respectively.
The winners were awarded their trophies by top professional road race cyclist Dan Lloyd, who recently finished fourth in the Tour of Qatar as part of the Canadian Cervelo racing team.
