It was all about the grizzled veterans and the fresh-faced debutants at Sunday's Hounslow & District Wheelers Autumn 25-Mile Time Trial. Jeff Marshall, finishing fourth overall in 1.3:40 hours, cruised to victory in the veterans' category by a five-minute margin.
And at the other end of the age scale, two 15-year-olds, Matthew Sewell and Tom Duffell, both took part in their first-ever competitive rides. Sewell came 16th in 1.20:21, and Duffell 18th in 1.32:07, out of a field of 30.
Rob Gilmour was the overall winner in 1.1:02, beating Wouter Sybrandy and Mark Silver to the finish line, while Jill Bartlett won the handicap.
