CHRIS Baird said the draw that 'felt like a win' should help give Fulham all the belief they need to start rising up the Premier League table.

The Whites are still without a win and only have West Brom below them after five games, but Martin Jol's men should be full of confidence when they travel to the Hawthorns next week, according to the Northern Ireland international.

“It did feel like a win, “ Baird said. “Being 2-0 down against Manchester City, it's always going to be a tough call, but we dug deep in the second half and were much much better.

“We knew we had to be and we're delighted with the point. I think we deserved what we got out of the game.

“Hopefully this result will give us a boost, and if we show the qualities we showed today, we'll climb that table.”

Fulham had 24 hours less than City to prepare after respective midweek European ties, but it did not show in the second half – another cause for pride in the Fulham ranks.

“I don't know where all that energy came from but we had to do something there after what we showed in the first half,” Baird said. “That was the most important thing.

“We showed the quality that we have got and thankfully we did get a point out of it and we could even have gone on to win it.”
