UXBRIDGE boss Tony Choules feels his side have softened up Royston Town ahead of Tuesday night's FA Trophy replay with the Crows.

Reds captain Wayne Carter's injury time strike gave his side a reprieve in the first qualifying round on Saturday and Choules reckons he now has the measure of Town.

“We know where they're weak,” he said. “We had enough chances in the first half. I think in the first twenty, twenty-five minutes we should be two or three up. We were a far better side than them. They came here riding high in the league. I can't see them being there this time by the end of the season.”

On Saturday, the home side were reduced to 10-men after 37 minutes and the referee took the names of nine other players throughout the match.

“I think if the ref allows both team to keep eleven players on; I think we win comfortably,” Choules said. “I felt we were favourites to win it, I really did. I'm disappointed in the refereeing aspects rather than the game. There wasn't one bad tackle out there. But on the football side of it we are pleased with the result.”

“I think they [Royston] expected us to go defensively but we want to win every game. We're a bit disappointed we've got to go there on Tuesday [but] we certainly won't go there to defend. We're going there to go and win the game.”

Mark Dennison is likely to miss out with a knee injury and it's unknown whether striker Chris Moore will recover in time from a shin problem.

Should Uxbridge progress to the second stage, they will play either Canvey Island or Wroxham at home on Saturday October 27.
