CHELSEA record goalscorer Frank Lampard will sit down with club officials to discuss his future after Sunday's season-ending match against Everton.

Lampard, who led Chelsea to their Champions League glory a year to the day before the match, says he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and that the club has been good to him.

Asked about contract negotiations, and the club's desire to modernise, Lampard said: “My eyes are very wide open.

“The club have been very good to me, and a lot of things have been said. But I think they've moved the club on, and the club is moving to the future. I think the club is making the right decisions.

“I hope to stay – simple as that. We've got two big games coming up: nothing will happen in that period of time, but at the end of those games I hope to sit down with them.

“That's my wish, and I've made that clear for a very long time. So we'll see.”

The subject of Lampard's contract has been a constant issue all season, and he said he hoped the end of Chelsea's epic campaign would see a swift resolution.

Asked if he would like things quickly decided he said: “Yes. But I don't want to over-talk it: I've made it clear that I want to stay.

“I don't want the personal talk to go on too much this week with the Amsterdam game, particularly.”
