ANDRE Villas-Boas lavished the highest praise so far on his Chelsea team after a classy display that earned them a point at White Hart Lane.

The Chelsea boss said he was so pleased with the display that even had they lost, he would have been satisfied. He also said he believes the result keeps his team's title ambitions afloat.

“It's one of those days where for me, the result really wouldn't matter,” he said.

“I think the performance was outstanding. If a last minute goal had gone into the back of the net, I would still have been extremely satisfied.

“Getting a point here I think is excellent in terms of our league challenge – it keeps it alive and if you had proposed to me that we would go past these December fixtures at the moment with two wins and two draws, I think I would take it.

“Today shows our character and personality, with excellent levels of resilience and adaptation to circumstances. I also think that our passing game exploded today to wonderful levels. It was fantastic to watch this team playing.

“It's outstanding and remarkable and I think if there should be a fair result, it should have been Chelsea's win.

“For us to impose ourselves second half like we did is extremely gratifying. We suffered at the beginning [going 1-0 down], but after that showed our character to come back.”

Villas-Boas added: "Can we win the league? I think so. If we take the six points like we expect from our next two home fixtures, we are pretty much in it."
