ANDRE Villas-Boas says he does not expect to lose his job, even if his team flops during a make-or-break December.

The Blues face a 'life or death' Champions League clash with Valencia on Tuesday – in the words of the Chelsea boss – and six crucial league fixture, three against top sides.

The outcome of those may well decide whether Chelsea can get back into the title race, but the manager does not believe his own neck is on the line.

“A defining month for me? For sure not, because it is not in question and we will continue to progress as we are trying.

“Sure I will still be here because I was brought in for a three year project and we believe in it.

“Regarding the December fixtures, I've already spoken enough about them and the importance they might have – not just for me but also other managers.

“There are a lot of points at stake before January. December is pure Premiership fixtures – three games at home and three games away for us – and it can be decisive for any team.”

Villas-Boas added: “I don't think it's a crisis. We just have to pull ourselves together with hard work and continue to believe that we are going to reverse the situation. I think you can only [judge] at the end of the season - if you have won any trophies or not.”
