DIVISION ONE SOUTH & WEST

Windsor and Eton 1

Uxbridge 2

TWO first-half goals helped Uxbridge to victory at promotion-chasing Windsor on Monday.

Lee Tunnell and David Warner did the damage, but the visitors had to survive a second-half fightback to take the points.

Reds striker Warner crashed a shot against the crossbar early on, and it wasn't long before they got their noses in front.

Kevin Warner's shot appeared to be going wide, but Tunnell showed great awareness to divert the ball past Rob Bullivant.

They doubled their lead shortly after when Danny Tilbury won a 50/50 ball in the middle of the park, before teeing up David Warner to score.

However, their lead was halved just four minutes after the break when Windsor captain Matt Seedel converted from the spot after a handball by Gavin Brown.

Another Brown blunder gifted Windsor the chance of a leveller, but the Uxbridge defender was relieved to see Ashley Vines' shot sail over the bar.

At the other end, Tilbury was denied by a linesman's flag, who correctly ruled out his effort for offside.

Windsor missed a gilt-edged chance to level late on when sub Joe Chandiram shot just wide, and the visitors held on for the points. [25a0] LEE Tunnell's effort couldn't stop Uxbridge slipping to a 2-1 home defeat to Bridgwater Town on Saturday.

A goal either side of the break from Robert Lawrence and then Dan Forward gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Tunnell pulled on back within two minutes, but Uxbridge couldn't find a way back.
