CLAYTON Donaldson has warned his Brentford team-mates: “Beware of the underdog.”
The Bees host Blue Square South side Basingstoke Town in the FA Cup first round at Griffin Park on Saturday.
Uwe Rosler's men go into the clash as clear favourites, but Donaldson knows they can't take the Dragons lightly.
The former Crewe frontman has been on the end of an upset for two successive seasons, crashing out to York then lowly Tamworth last year.
And he insists Brentford must be on their guard to avoid the same fate.
“It's a potential banana skin,” said the striker. “We've got to approach the game with the correct attitude.
“It's a cup game, so it's not about how you play it's just about getting through.
“For Crewe I've had really bad experiences in the FA Cup, so I know you can't take anything for granted.
“It's a one-off game and anything can happen. They will be raising their game against us and I was always the same because you want to impress.
“They're not going to come here and lie down and let us walk all over them. We're in for a tough game.”
