CHARLIE MacDonald has backed Millwall for promotion – but hopes to put a major dent in their promotion hopes tonight.

Brentford will aim to continue their good form at the high-flying Lions, where MacDonald started his career as a 12-year-old.

The 14-goal striker reckons his old side will snatch second spot in League One, but is aiming to tame the Lions at the New Den .

He said: "I was there until schoolboy level.

"I left because I had a lot of friends who played for Charlton .

"Some of my family are Millwall fans. I wish them all the best to nick the second place - after Friday."
