TOUMANI Diagouraga has apologised to Brentford fans after they suffered play-off heartbreak against Yeovil.
Harlee Dean's header couldn't prevent the Bees going down 2-1 as they missed out on promotion again.
And midfielder Diagouraga has said sorry to the 22,000 fans that cheered them on at Wembley.
He said: “It’s very disappointing. It’s a sad day for everyone connected with the club.
“We're sorry. We gave it our all, that’s all I can say. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day.”
Yeovil raced out of the blocks and took an early lead through Paddy Madden before Dan Burn added a second just before the break to leave Uwe Rosler's men with a mountain to climb.
“I don’t know what went wrong,” Diagouraga added.
“ They scored an early goal and it settled them down quicker than us. The second goal was a killer.”
