BRENTFORD transfer target Pim Balkestein is on trial at German club Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The former Ipswich Town centre-back is still on Bees boss Andy Scott 's radar, despite bringing in three defenders last week.

But the 23-year-old is trying to earn a deal abroad instead, with a number of unknown Dutch sides also interested in his services.

Balkestein made 14 appearances on loan at Griffin Park last season, scoring one goal.
