BRENTFORD boss Uwe Rosler has urged fans to get behind Marcello Trotta after he returned to Griffin Park on loan last night.

The Fulham frontman is back for a second spell in TW8 following his temporary switch from Craven Cottage until January.

Trotta spent six months with the Bees last campaign, scoring nine goals in 21 starts, featuring a further eight times off the bench.

However, it was the young Italian's controversial penalty miss against Doncaster Rovers – which cost them promotion to the Championship – that has divided opinion about his arrival.

But Rosler has pleaded with fans to support the 20-year-old as they bid to go one better this time.

He said: “Since I have been at the club everyone has been united and pulling in the same direction.

“With Marcello, people remember him for the missed penalty, but I remember the impact he made when he came to the club.

“He performed well under pressure and bounced back from that Doncaster game.

“I feel he is a good solution for us and we should judge him on his performances.

“It's important everyone gives him a fair chance. We all have the same goal.

“Marcello knows some people have not forgotten what happened, but he wants to come here and fight for his place.”
