GARY Alexander got the hat-trick, but strike-partner Clayton Donaldson (pictured) must share the plaudits, insists Brentford boss Uwe Rosler.

Bees goal machine Alexander made it five goals in two games, and 14 in 19 starts, with his treble in today's 5-2 win over Wycombe.

But Rosler insists Donaldson, who has only hit the back of the net five times this season, should get credit too for his selfless work up front.

He said: “A lot of people don't see the work that Clayton Donaldson does, I am very pleased with his work rate.

“There will be times this season when we only play with one striker and Clayton may be on the bench, but he is forming a very good partnership wth Gary.

“He got a very good service today. We played it short and direct, and Clayton laid it off. He will always cause defences trouble.”

Hat-trick hero Alexander was equally complimentary, saying: “A goal would do Clayton the world of good – but he should take credit as he works his socks off and helped create my second goal today.”
