BRENTFORD have rubbished rumours that Peterborough United have made an official approach for boss Andy Scott.

Speculation surfaced this morning that Posh had asked the Bees for permission to speak to Scott about the vacant manager's position at London Road after axeing Darren Ferguson earlier this week.

But the club insists they've had no contact from the Championship basement boys.

Executive team member Alan Bird said: "Peterborough have not asked for permission to speak to Andy Scott.

"He signed a rolling contract this summer, and is part of our plans for the future."
