Ashford began their new season with a win and a loss this week.
It started well with a 112-76 win over Feltham Ex-Servicemen, winning four of the five rinks. A. Tanner, R. Shelley, D. Ayton Snr and D. Coleman top scored with their 29-11 rink win.
The following day, Ashford won two of the rinks and drew one at Windsor & Eton, but these were cancelled out by heavy losses in their three defeats. R. Odell, M. Law, D. Ayton Snr and D. Coleman got Ashford's best effort with a 21-16 win, but they lost 139-11 overall.
Meanwhile, the club are holding open nights from 6.15pm on Tuesday evenings from May 13 at Woodthorpe Road. Anyone is welcome and coaching is available, but you must bring flat shoes.
* Stanwell Bowls Club are holding an Open Day on Sunday, May 18.
The event, for all the family, runs from 11am until 4pm and will be held at the club on Oaks Road. Free tuition will be provided, but please wear flat shoes.
