HILLINGDON Borough Ladies travelled to Colne Valley with the hope of continuing their winning run.

Despite the heavy rain the pitch was surprisingly hard and ridiculously wide, which took Borough a long time to get used to.

Borough started slowly and were a goal down with five minutes gone, an excellent shot giving keeper Debbie Mason no chance of saving it.

With Borough unable to get used to the free space on the side lines, and Colne Valley exploiting this well, there was a change in formation to four at the back.

From here Borough built and started to play some decent football, having several chances but going in 1-0 down at half time, nonetheless hopeful of building on a decent end to the half.

But things only got worse in the second half, with Borough leaking another two goals before scoring one of their own. A defence splitting through ball from central midfielder Sarah Atkin found Kirsty Simmonds who coolly lifted the ball over the keeper and into the top corner.

But just two minutes after the re-start Colne Valley had the ball in the back of the net again making the score 4-1.

Borough ended the game frustrated at the worst performance of the season so far, never really settling into their normal passing game and only playing well in shorts spells in either half.
