JAKE Bidwell insists Brentford must put Saturday's disappointment against Doncaster behind them and focus on the play-offs.

The Bees blew the chance to clinch an automatic promotion spot in heartbreaking fashion at the weekend, missing an injury-time penalty before the visitors broke away to snatch victory and the League One title.

The defeat resigned Uwe Rosler's men to a two-legged play-off semi-final against Swindon Town.

But Bidwell says the Bees haven't given up hope of reaching the Championship.

He said: “We're obviously disappointed but we've hopefully got three games left now.

“It's going to be a quick turnaround and we've got to get ourselves up for it again.

“We had a great opportunity but that's gone now. We've still got every chance to go up.”

Brentford have beaten the Robins twice already this season, edging it 1-0 at the County Ground in November before seeing them off 2-1 at Griffin Park last month.

But Bidwell has warned those victories will mean nothing when the sides come face to face twice in three days over the Bank Holiday weekend.

“It counts for nothing now,” said the on-loan Everton defender.

“Everyone beats everyone in this league. We beat Swindon twice, but we drew with Bury twice, and they got relegated.”
