BRENTFORD have lodged an appeal with the FA over Tony Craig's red card against Sheffield United last night.

The Bees captain was dismissed for violent conduct after an off-the-ball clash with Dave Kitson in a game that ended 2-2 after four penalties and three sendings-off.

Referee Keith Stroud showed Craig a straight red after consulting his assistant, but Brentford have appealed the decision on the grounds of wrongful dismissal.

The hearing is due to take place tomorrow afternoon, with Craig set to serve a three-match ban if Brentford's bid to overturn the decision fails.

However, boss Uwe Rosler is confident justice will be done.

He said: “Tony Craig got fouled, Kitson wrestled him down.

“Tony had his arm up but there was no movement [towards Kitson]. The linesman told me he punched the player.

“I think we have a very good chance that justice will be done.”
