Tin-Tin Ho did her bit to help Middlesex win the national county crown in a thriller against hot-fancied Sussex recently.

The Commonweath Games medallist from Bayswater scored a four-game win over Eva Wang (8-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8) against Lincolnshire in a one-sided match that totted up the points over a non-stop weekend at the Wood Green Academy in Wednesbury West Midlands.

The championship is decided on a league basis and although Sussex were likewise winning their games, Ho and Middlesex always had the upper hand.

When the two counties inevitably met, Ho was drawn to play the penultimate match against Lois Peake. The rubber was neatly poised at 5-3 to Middlesex, but although Ho dropped the second game, the England international was always in control and ran out 3-1 (11-2, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7) that allowed Middlesex to take an unassailable lead.

Ho’s county completed the task by seeing off Northants in the final match 6-4.
