NATIONAL DIVISION THREE (SOUTH) Eastside Eagles......64 WESTMINSTER WARRIORS........70

Westminster Warriors moved top of the division for the first time this season after back-to-back victories over the weekend spearheaded by one of the club's loyal servants.

Marvin Addy was top scorer in Saturday's triumph over Eastside Eagles and plundered another 19 points in Sunday's defeat of Oxford Brookes.

Addy has stuck by Warriors even though the team were forced to ditch their traditional Moberly Sports Centre home in Queen's Park for the less than convenient South Bank University on their return to action last season after two years away.

On Saturday, Jay Williams set up Warriors with two three-pointers in the first quarter. But Eastside hit back and it wasn't until the last quarter the west Londoners got a decisive nose in front. At one end of the court Addy was restricting the Eagles top scorer to just eight points; at the other he was racking up 17 vital points.

SUNDAY was a day of rest for the Warriors rearguard - at least in the first quarter when they were down by 10 in the first six minutes.

Once the sleep was wiped from Westminster eyes, they denied Oxford a single point for five minutes of the second period.

Luke Baker and Steve Vear did the job at the back, while Jon Jay Johnson and Addy piled up the points at the right end.

EVEN without talismen Patrick Omige and Ola Ogidan, Kensington-based Westside hit a season high in points scoring on Saturday.

The hoop suddenly grew large for Shaun Brown who hit 26, and Daniel Worku was right behind on 23. But coach Frank Lamptey wasn't entirely satisfied. He said: "We didn't stop them scoring at the other end enough."
