PIM Balkestein hopes he has done enough to earn a new deal at AFC Wimbledon.
The Dutch defender has made 27 appearances during an injury-ravaged season with the Dons as they escaped the League Two drop on the final day.
However, Balkestein insists he's finally over his injury worries and is keeping his fingers crossed he figures in Neal Ardley's plan for next campaign.
He said: “I have been out for a lot of the time and had to fight to get back in the team.
“I feel much better now and hope I can push on next season.
“I've been dropping down the leagues since I left Ipswich a few years ago and it's time to kick on.
“I've loved my time at Wimbledon and hope to stay here. There's a great bunch of lads and the fans are brilliant and come out in their numbers.
“I'm going to speak to the manager tomorrow to see what he has planned.”
