Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow athlete Morgan Lake improved her own GB U17 penathlon record at the European Indoor Championships in Prague.

Her tally of 4,527 points was enough to break the record by just one point and was good enough for ninth place as Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson won gold.

Her best discipline was the high jump, where she was placed in third. She was sixth in the shot put, ninth in the long jump and 800m, while she finished 14th in the hurdles.

Lawrence Clarke led the Great Britain team to an excellent third place, although missed out on a medal in the 60m hurdles, finishing fifth.

Shelayna Oskan Clarke finished third in her 800m heat with a time of 2mins 5.08secs in her maiden senior GB appearance.
