She bears the burden of following in the footsteps of her famous dad - but at least Zoe Wells made sure those debut strides for Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow were winning ones on Saturday.

The 17-year-old daughter of Olympic 100m champion Allan Wells provided just one of a string of wins for the club's Southern League team as they dominated the Premiership match at Horsham.

Wells romped home at the same distance that saw her dad take gold in Moscow in 1980, and then was lead-off leg in the victorious 4X100 relay.

So good were WSE&H in their second match of five, they turned out two teams, and it was no surprise they were 40 points ahead of nearest challengers Colchester by the end.

The other 100m win by Caroline Hussey was copied in both the high and 400m hurdles races, where WSE&H's Rose Reynolds, Jenny Heckford, Sophie Purkis and Sarah Phelps were one-two finishers.

Leigh James slashed her personal best by 20 seconds to win the 3,000m, and the theme of double wins was continued in the 1500m by Louisa Lingley and Rachel Stedman with the latter landing a new PB.

The field also saw a string of blue vests cream the opposition.

In the hammer and discus, Joanne John and Janet Smith were far too good for the opposition, while Abbey Jones was a comfortable winner in the shot putt.

Max Clarke set a new PB en route to first in the pole vault, as did U17 Claire Hing in the senior triple jump.
