Having conquered the county in cross country,Isleworth's Hannah Pollak is now taking Middlesex by storm in the short and middle distances.

The Green School pupil, who won the U17 race at last year's county schools cross country championships, decided on a change of pace for last weekend's Middlesex Championships.

And she took to her new events like a duck to water, winning the 800m in 2:22 mins and finishing second in the 400m in 1:05 mins.

It was a similar story for fellow student Ian May, who attends Isleworth & Syon School for Boys.

He won the U20 800m in a new best of 1:58.2 mins before coming second in the 1500m in 4:06.5 mins.

May's was one of many successes for Windsor,Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC athletes at the Championships. Veteran jumper Julian Golley defied his advancing years to win the senior long jump in 7.16m, while David Harvey won the U17 title in 6.17m.

Multi-eventer Ashley Bryant contested five events and took gold in the U20 pole vault (4m) and discus (29.17m). Meanwhile, Blake Crowe extended his personal best by some 3m with his winning effort of 52.2m in the U17 javelin.
