FORGET Manchester United's stroll to the Premier League crown, AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley reckons the most exciting football is being played at the bottom of the Football League.

The Dons boss watched the battle for League Two survival take another twist on Easter Monday as Barnet leapfrogged Wimbledon after a smash-and-grab win at Kingsmeadow.

That result, along with wins for York, Aldershot and a battling draw for Accrington, dragged Ardley's side back into the relegation mix as the season reaches its climax.

Wimbledon are now just three points off the drop zone, with a worrying goal difference, and the Dons chief believes the fight to escape the trapdoor will go right to the wire.

Ardley said: “It's difficult. This is the league this year though isn't it? The Premier League looks to be all sown up and everybody should look at League Two because it's going to be a battle to the end.

“I'd be surprised if 51 points isn't enough but it's not a case of one more win and then shut up shop. It's a case of one more win and then go for every point that's still available.

“We've been mentally strong and dealt with the pressure well for the last three months. We can't let the good work that we've done in the last two or three months go to waste.”

A trip to a Bristol Rovers, who won 4-2 at Dagenham & Redbridge today, is next up for Ardley's men.
