Brits Dan Evans and James Ward have joined Andy Murray in the second round of the Aegon Championships after winning their matches on Monday.

Evans beat Jurgen Melzer in three sets to seal a meeting with world No. 18 Kevin Anderson. After winning the first 6-3, he was edged out of the second in a tiebreak.

However, the British No. 2 held his nerve to close out the game 7-6 in the deciding set.

Ward will also be in action again at Queen's after cruising past Blaz Rola for the second time in just over a fortnight following his win in French Open qualifying.

The world No. 155 came through in straight sets to clinch a second round clash with Grigor Dimitrov.

Murray's opponent was also confirmed, with the Scot coming up against Paul-Henri Mathieu of France after his win over Aljaz Bedene.

Meanwhile, 2010 champion Sam Querrey and Nicolas Mahut, who dumped out Murray in 2012, are both safely through.
