Ian Holloway is happy to be able to tell his team they've won away from home and heaped praise on the progress of Jack Robinson during his time at the club.

QPR recorded their first victory away from Loftus Road this season, a 2-1 win at Birmingham City, thanks to a brace from the former Liverpool defender.

The 24-year-old was Liverpool's youngest ever player at 16 years and 250 days when he made his debut in 2010 against Hull.

Hoops boss Holloway lauded Robinson's journey through injury and declared how proud he was in his QPR side's performances even if they haven't been achieving results.

He said: "I think Robbo, for me, has made the biggest progress of everybody I've ever had in my career.

"He couldn't train 2 or 3 days in a row because he had an injury and the physio has been brilliant with him.

"We've worked him and worked him but it's his determination that is the secret to this.

"You know he played with Liverpool when he was 16, he palyed for England and it hasn't gone the way that he wanted to with the injuries.

"I'm so proud of him, on my life, not just today, I am bursting with pride and I told him that before the game, and I told all my players, 'I'm hanging my hat on what you've been doing and if you keep doing it, don't give up, don't expect things, you keep doing it, we'll get what we deserve."

The ex Crystal Palace manager is pleased that performances have eventually turned into points.

He said: "I don't know about a turning point but I can't believe everybody who's come to watch us on the road so far.

If you were to tell me 'you hadn't got three points'- I can't believe it because at Sheffield Wednesday, the very first game we missed a chance in the last minute, we were the better team in that game, I feel, and we drew 1-1.

"It's been a long time coming but you've got to shake it off. 'You can win away from home', I can say that now, 'you have been doing well lads'".
