Extra time goals from substitutes Kieran Knight and Esmond James took Hayes & Yeading to a thrilling 5-3 win in their FA Cup second qualifying round clash with Staines Town at Church Road  last night (Tuesday).

After Saturday's 0-0 draw the replay was full of action with Will Hendry putting United ahead on 16 minutes only for Richard Butler to equalise for Staines four minutes later.

Goals from Matt Rugby on 28 minutes, his first for the club, and another strike from Hendry on 43 minutes then put United in control as they led 3-1 at the interval.

However, a mistake by keeper Aaron Howe allowed Staines back into the match as Elliot Onochie scored after 67 minutes and then Butler netted the equaliser on 73 minutes as the Swans took the tie in to extra time.

H&Y once again took control when Knight slid the ball home after good work by Josh Scott on 99 minutes. Staines then had an effort ruled out for a foul on Howe before in the dying minutes James struck to complete a memorable 5-3 win for Garry Haylock's side in front of a crowd of 348.

United will now travel to face Kingstonian in the third qualifying round on October 11.
