QPR pair Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Michael Doughty are dropping down to League One after penning loan deals.

Forward Emmanuel-Thomas has been allowed to move to Gillingham for the season after making 15 appearances for the Rs last season.

“I’m here to help the club get as high as possible in the league,” he said. “I want to score goals, excite the fans, and show people what I’m good at.”

Midfielder Doughty will be joining him in the third tier after penning a season-long deal at Swindon after spending the second half of last term at the County Ground.

Both players are eligible to make their bows tomorrow when the new season kicks off while Rangers have to wait until Sunday to play Leeds United in their season opener.
