As always, you can expect the unexpected when it comes to the transfer window but here are a few things in particular to keep your eye on...

  • Chelsea will be on the look for some firepower as they try desperately and salvage their season. They have been linked with the likes of Paul Pogba, Antione Griezmann, Alexandre Pato and Jamie Vardy. Although any big-money move looks unlikely, due to financial fair play, Chelsea always tend to be active in January.
  • Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may be forced into making some moves and bringing his own players in and one player linked is Nevin Subotic. Subotic was with Klopp at Mainz as well, before joining him at Dortmund and could well join up with the German for a third time as he tries to sort out his shaky defence. Klopp may also look to sign a goalkeeper following a barrage of errors from Simon Mignolet.
  • PSG's Marco Verratti is being linked with a moved to Manchester United as the French side aim to make room for Chelsea target Paul Pogba. United however may lose Guillermo Valera to Napoli, despite the 22-year-old Uruguayan having started their last two games.
