QPR could be interested in Hull City defender Alex Bruce after it was announced he would be leaving the club this summer.

In an unorthodox move, Bruce found out of his release after the news broke on Hull City's Twitter account

Bruce, who has two caps for Northern Ireland, has been told he is allowed to leave the Tigers after their relegation from the Premier League this season.

He made 85 appearances for the club since arriving in 2012 after the appointment of his father, Steve Bruce.

However in January this year he moved on loan to Wigan Athletic after falling out of favour at the KC Stadium.

The 32-year-old, who has also played for clubs including Birmingham City, Ipswich Town and Leeds United, has a wealth of Championship knowledge and could prove a wily addition to add some much-needed experience to a youthful QPR defensive line.
