The question begs will QPR go back in the summer for any of the players on their January transfer wish list?

GetWestLondon got exclusives from copper-bottomed sources on players fancied to do a job at Loftus Road.

There were fond hopes loans could be got for Arouna Kone at Everton, David Nugent, now at Derby, then Middlesbrough, Hugo Rodallega, formerly at Fulham, and even Glenn Murray at Brighton.

As it turned out, Rangers brought in Matt Smith from Fulham, the cost of the deal you read here first, Sean Goss from Manchester United, Kazenga LuaLua on loan from Brighton, Luke Freeman from Bristol City, and Ravel Morrison, also a borrow from Lazio.

So any of the original list due to get a revisit?

None, sadly.

Nugent, Murray, Rodallega and Kone have all been binned for different reasons.

Nugent signed for the Rams permanently before any QPR loan deal got off the ground. Murray did the same at Brighton, and Kone's £40k-a-week non negotiable wages were the rock on which hopes foundered.

Rodallega would have been a free agent in the summer. But a three-year deal that took him from Akhisar Belediye, where he's been banging them in for fun, to the better known Trabzonspor killed that idea stone dead.

Back to the drawing board for Rs when it comes to summer spending.
