Tony Fernandes has refused to rule out the possibility of QPR doing some transfer business on deadline day.

The Hoops have been linked with a move for Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor this morning and Harry Redknapp admits he wants another striker.

Chairman Fernandes reckons the days of big spending at Loftus Road are over but stopped short of saying he would not sanction any deals today.

He has publicly given his backing to under-fire Redknapp despite calls for some quarters for the R’s manager to be dismissed and could hand him funds if the right deal is on the table.

Fernandes tweeted: “No more cheque book. We have good players. Bought all the players manager asked for in sunmer [sic]. Our players not mercenaries. Good guys.

“If something intresting [sic] comes up we would look at it. But I'm not optimistic.

"Given the right motivation, tactics and coaching we can achieve much more.”

QPR have suffered big financial losses in recent seasons and they are tied by the Financial Fair Play restrictions.
