Brentford's transfer business last summer saw 13 players depart for various reasons.

They included seeing Jake Bidwell and David Button joining Championship and west London rivals QPR and Fulham, young talent Jack O'Connell moving to Sheffield United, young players like Daniel O'Shaughnessy moved to Cheltenham, while the likes of Marco Djuricin returned to their parent clubs.

Unsurprisingly, the players to leave Griffin Park have suffered varying fortunes after their departure with some enjoying great success and others having a turbulent time at their next club.

Here, GetWestLondon takes a look at the past 12 months for the departed 13 players.

Jake Bidwell (QPR)

The left back moved across west London at the start of the transfer window, much to the frustration of the Bees fans.

On the ball: Jake Bidwell

Bidwell suffered a shoulder injury at Burton early in the season but still made 36 appearances for a Rangers side that only just secured survival in the penultimate game.

Jack O'Connell (Sheffield United)

The defender had the best season of those who left the Bees last summer, playing 44 times as the Blades won the League One title. The 23-year-old scored four goals in that time.

David Button (Fulham)

Button joined Bidwell in moving to one of Brentford's west London rivals. After playing Fulham's first 40 league games he was dropped for Marcus Bettinelli following a poor game at Derby.

Marco Djuricin (RB Salzburg)

Marco Djuricin

Djuricin was allowed to join Hungarian club Ferencvaros on loan. After scoring seven goals in his first nine games he suffered a cruciate ligament injury to end his season.

John Swift (Reading)

The midfielder joined Reading after Chelsea allowed him to leave in the summer and he scored nine goals, including one against Brentford, to fire the Royals to the Championship play-off final.

Sergi Canos (Norwich)

The Spaniard endured a torrid time at Norwich and rejoined the Bees in the January transfer window for a club record fee.

Courtney Senior (Colchester United)

Senior joined Colchester United last summer but he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Essex club.

Aaron Greene (AFC Sudbury)

Greene signed on for the season at the Suffolk club but left in October and joined Bishops Stortford.

Audrius Laucys (Concord Rangers)

The Lithuanian defender joined Concord Rangers after Brentford released him.

Daniel O'Shaughnessy (Cheltenham Town)

After he was released by the Bees, the Finland international joined Cheltenham Town and helped keep the Robins in League Two. He scored four goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

Mark Smith (Aldershot Town)

The Isleworth born stopper made nine appearances for the Shots in the National League, keeping four clean sheets in that time. The Hampshire club were beaten by Tranmere in the play-off semi finals.

Nik Tzanev (AFC Wimbledon)

The New Zealand U20 international signed for AFC Wimbledon earlier this month after impressing on trial with the U21s.

Emmanuel Ledesma (Panetolikos)

The Argentine moved to Greek side Panetolikos and made nine appearances between September and December, when he parted company with the club on Christmas Eve.

In March, Ledesma moved to the Big Apple and joined North American Soccer League side New York Cosmos.
