Martin Taylor wants to extend his loan spell at Brentford.

The Sheffield Wednesday defender has scored two goals in three matches since his arrival last month.

However, his deal is due to expire after Saturday's clash with Rotherham United, with no extension yet agreed.

But the 33-year-old centre-back, who is surplus to requirements at Hillsborough, is desperate to stay in TW8.

He said: "My loan's up on Monday. I've really enjoyed myself and would be happy to stay on.

"You want to be out there playing, not on the bench or sitting in the stands.

"I haven't had much contact with Sheffield Wednesday, but I think they have enough cover.

"My fitness is getting better with each game. I played in pre-season but haven't played competitively since I came here, so I feel much better now.

"I'm getting my sharpness back and feel right up there."

Taylor has warned his Brentford team-mates to expect a tough test at the weekend, having seen Wednesday dumped out of the Capital One Cup by the Millers earlier this season.

"Rotherham are a good side," he added. "We played a strong team and they deserved their victory."
