Queens Park Rangers are reportedly battling it out with Swansea and Reading to secure the services of Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom.

According to reports in our sister title The Daily Mirror, the three clubs are sniffing around the 25-year-old right-back following his displays for the Tykes in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

Yiadom only joined Barnsley last summer on a free transfer after a series of impressive performances for League Two outfit Barnet.

But interest has grown further in the player since he made his debut for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Yiadom, who has also played for Hayes & Yeading and Braintree, has another year left on his contract at Oakwell, but is understood to have snubbed the offer on a new deal as a result of the interest from other clubs.

However, if QPR are to make a move for Yiadom, they will have to put their hands deep into their pockets, with Barnsley putting a price tag of close to £2million on the former England C international, according to The Sun.

The report suggests Swansea are prepared to pay no more than £500,000 for Yiadom, but might be willing to put their Scotland under-21 striker Oliver McBurnie into the mix either as a swap deal or on a season-long loan move to ensure they snap up the Barnsley man.
