Reading’s move for Fulham goalkeeper David Button appears to be gathering pace, with a move likely to be completed in the coming days.

The Royals have recently lost current number one keeper Ali Al Habsi to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, leaving Jaap Stam desperately searching for a new stopper.

Button moved to Craven Cottage from Griffin Park last summer and established himself as the club's number one for the majority of the season.

But an error-strewn night at Derby cost him his place in the side with Marcus Bettinelli going in goal for the final eight games of the season plus the play-offs.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked with a move for Button, which would present a reunion with Mark Warburton.

Bettinelli has also been linked with a move away with Bristol City reportedly interested in the stopper.
