Forgotten QPR man Shaun Wright-Phillips has turned down the opportunity to go out on loan.

The winger who scored the surprise winner at Chelsea nearly two years ago has spent practically all the last year on the very distant sidelines.

He won't get a second chance to repeat the feat that saw Rs beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in January 2013.

In fact, he’s played only once this season, and even then was subbed during the 1-0 Capital Cup defeat to Burton in August.

In the recent past his boss reckoned the England international had enjoyed a ‘lucrative career’ a sideways swipe possibly that suggested any move, loan or otherwise was null and void until his £70,000-a-week contract ran out at the end of this season.

Harry Redknapp added: “Shaun’s still here and he’s in the squad, and he’s got to keep working hard and get in the team. He had one or two opportunities to go on loan but he didn’t fancy it.”
