Harry Redknapp reckons QPR will know whether Loic Remy is staying or going a week before the transfer deadline at least.

The manager wants the striker to stay at Loftus Road and reckoned £10.5 million for the Frenchman is cheap.

If the Rs boss has his way, it would be closer to £20m, but the clause in the Frenchman’s contract means there will be a lot of crossed fingers in W12 – and not just Harry’s.

The man in charge insists the forward’s character will not leave Hoops in the lurch a couple of days before the window closes and short of front men.

He said: “He wouldn’t want to do that; he’s got a good relationship with the chairman and a good lad.

“With a week to go we need to know where we’re going. To do something a day before I don’t think will happen – he’s too decent a lad for that.”

On his way? Adel Taarabt wants out at QPR

However, Rangers have an open line to clubs interested in buying Adel Taarabt.

The mercurial midfielder is again on the fringes of the Rs set-up, with Redknapp revealing he’s hopelessly short of fitness.

He’s not fit; and I think he’s looking to move, and I wish him well,” Harry added.

“He’s not done one real day’s training since we we’ve been back, with injuries and that.”
