QPR are being asked to pay £3 million for Charlton midfielder Jordan Cousins.

Rs interest has yet to become a firm bid, but the relegated Addicks will play hardball on a man who has been their player of the year twice in a row.

More importantly, Cousins was signed to a deal that still has three years to run.

Brighton are also sniffing around one of the most dynamic players in the Championship over the last two seasons; a player who has pace to burn and fitting nicely into the model posed by QPR head coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

JFH has made it plain he wants a super-fit team by season's start on August 7 against Leeds. But Rangers are hamstrung on paying inflated fees until they can offload at least one of the three big earners still at he club.

Sandro, Nedum Onuoha and Steven Caulker are the names opposite the big pay packets, and Hoops were involved in protracted negotiations before clinching deals for defenders Joel Lynch and Jake Bidwell.
