QPR have joined the race for French frontman Bafetimbi Gomis.

The Lyon striker is available on a free transfer as his contract at the Ligue 1 outfit expires this summer.

Newcastle have been long-term admirers of the 28-year-old, while Sunderland, Swansea and West Ham are also interested.

However, Harry Redknapp has now made a move for the striker, according to the Daily Mirror.

Rangers are in talks about a £70,000-a-week deal, but Gomis wants to keep his options open to see what other offers are on the table.
