Queens Park Rangers have rejected a bid from Everton for young midfielder Josh Bowler, Get West London understands.

The bid was received on Tuesday, but rumours of a second bid which have surfaced online are believed to be untrue.

The 17-year-old, who made his debut in the final game of the season away at Norwich City, is highly regarded by the club and is seen as a big part of the clubs future plans.

Bowler is one of a number if youngsters said to be attracting attention from the Premier League, with Alex Smithies and Ryan Manning also rumoured to be attracting interest.

Smithies has been linked with a move to hometown club Huddersfield Town, while Ryan Manning has been linked with moves to Bournemouth and Crystal Palace after breaking into Ian Holloway's first team plans.
