Kevin Doyle admits it would be a dream to play for QPR in the Premier League - the fly in the ointment would be an Rs hiccup in the play-offs.

The striker’s parent club Wolves are also in the Championship next season. And with one season left on his near £40,000-a-week contract, it will need boss Harry Redknapp to back up interest with hard cash to land a permanent deal for the loanee.

Redknapp is keen to sign the striker on a permanent basis, while Wolves counterpart Kenny Jackett is ready to let the Irish international move on.

Doyle insists reporting back to Molineux on July 1 is the only certainty – but hopefully as a Wembley winner.

“It would be very attractive to play for QPR in the Premier League - but there are lots of ifs, buts and maybes,” Doyle said, “and a lot of scenarios. QPR are waiting to see what division there in with so many players out of contract.

“Come July it will be the usual merry-go-round. I have to go back to Wolves and see where I stand.”
