QPR have kept Junior Hoilett's contract offer on the table and may yet re-sign him, Les Ferdinand has revealed.
The Canadian was released by the club after failing to agree terms with Hoops in the summer but he has yet to find the Premier League club he so desires.
He revealed: “The door has never been closed on Junior. I’ve spoken to him and the manager has spoken to him on numerous occasions.
“As we all know, he was waiting for a move to the Premier League and he’s not had that yet.
“We’ll wait and see where he is. He’s a free now and will get itchy feet at some stage - I can’t believe that he doesn’t want to get back in. So we’ll keep knocking on the door.”
Hoilett was one of the players who caused consternation amongst supporters and Ferdinand believes that, if he chooses to return, his desire will be much greater.
He added: “We saw at the end of last season the player we thought we were bringing here at the start of his contract.
“The environment that he was involved in before enabled him to be the way he was.
“It’s a totally different regime here now and he understands that. He saw that last season.
“So if Junior Hoilett came back here I think he’d have an understanding that the club’s going forward.
“I can understand people’s reservations but if it’s someone who can benefit the club going forward then you’ve got to look at it.”
