QPR are reported to be closing in on a double swoop for Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer.

Iceland international Sigthorsson scored 12 goals in 42 games last season and has won three successive league titles with Ajax, but Rs boss Harry Redknapp's interest in the 24-year-old looked to have waned earlier this month.

However, reports in the Netherland suggest the move for Sigthorsson, who Ajax signed from AZ Alkmaar for £4million in 2011, but are ready to let go after landing strikers Arkadiusz Milik and Richairo Zivkovic, is back on.

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars told the Dutch press: “I’ve had some good discussions with QPR about Kolbeinn, and the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee. Of course what he wants is also important, but QPR are a good club for him.

"We are pretty close to each other regarding the transfer fee, but the player’s demands are obviously important as well. I think QPR is a good opportunity for Kolbeinn. Just look at how Wilfried Bony fares in the Premier League. He has already caught the attention of some major clubs after just one year in England.”

Redknapp also wants to secure the signing of Fer, another long term target, before the transfer window slams shut, according to the Evening Standard.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew could make a move to bring Loic Remy back to Newcastle following the striker's successful loan spell there last season.

Remy was United’s top scorer last season, and has since seen a move to Liverpool fall through. Pardew is monitoring the situation, report the Northern Echo.

Pardew said: "I am surprised about what’s happened with Loic because I thought he was signing for Liverpool and that door was slammed shut.

"I didn’t expect that, and we certainly had no problem with Loic during his time with us. So we shall monitor it as we go along."
